In accordance with that which is prescribed by the Code of Canon Law in reference to Baptisms, we remind you of the following:
1.- Prior to the Baptism, those who are adults need to receive adequate
catechisis. In the case of children receiving Baptism, this preparation will be for the parents and godparents. (Cn. 851)
The preparation in this parish takes place on the first Monday of each month at 18.00 in the church, aimed at parents and godparents.
2.- Parents should avoid choosing names devoid of Christian meaning and relevance. (Cn. 855)
3.- As a general rule, the Baptism should be administered in the parents' own Parish Church, unless a just reason dictates otherwise. (Cn. 857, & 2)
Should the parents wish to have their child baptised in a parish which is not their own, authorization from their parish priest must be requested
4.- There will be only one godfather or godmother, or one of each. (Cn. 873)
5.- The godparents must be over 16 years of age, Catholic, must have made their First Communion and Confirmation, and live lives in line with their faith and with the mission they are about to embark on. (Cn. 874)
